Where do our machines come from?

Have you ever wondered how the eggs get from the farm to your kitchen table? Well, the entire journey is a lesson for another day but how the eggs get into the box is a very interesting tale.

We use a MOBA UK ltd machine to take eggs from pallet to packaging, the Omnia PX 350 grader. MOBA are a company which are based in Telford, England and the machines are specially created in the Netherlands and fitted by a specialist team from MOBA.

Our grader, the Omnia PX 350 is “setting the standard within the industry” for maximum efficiency in term soft packaging, labour and waste eggs throughout the entire grading process. Particularly the machine is compliant with the highest standards of food hygiene and safety with a UV disinfection function which is always working to maintain our high standards here at Ellis Eggs.

Did you know…?

-       We can grade up to 127,000 eggs per hour

-       We can grade up to 350 cases per hour

-       We can grade up to 4 different products at the same time

-       We can run up to 24 packing lanes at a time

-       We can run up to 12 infeed rows all at once

Our grader is divided into 4 sections, they are the loader, infeed, grader and takeaway sections.

The loader is where the eggs are taken from the pallets, on their reusable plastic trays, onto the grader. The infeeder is where the cartons that you can buy in the supermarket are put into the machine in order for the eggs to be put into them. When the eggs are taken from the trays on the pallet to the cartons, they are on the grader. The takeaway sections are where the carboard cartons go into the larger boxes for distribution to stores.
