Our Eggs

Our hens are happy roaming around in the fields foraging for goodies – and that makes for the best eggs. Our eggs are natural, nutritious and offer great value for money; they’re so versatile – delicious boiled, poached, fried, scrambled, turned into exciting omelettes and in baked delicacies. Some customers drink raw eggs as part of a fitness regime as eggs contain large amounts of proteins which are needed in specific diets.

Runny eggs are safe for everyone! As stated by the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC), there is no need for you to worry about eating runny eggs anymore, whomever you are. Runny eggs are safe for young children, pregnant women and the elderly along with providing a lovely breakfast option for everyone else! (Check out our recipes page for inspiration).

Due to the scare of Salmonella in 1988, raw and runny eggs were off the menu for a lot of people but a review in 2017 means eggs with the British Lion Quality symbol are listed as safe for pregnant women, babies and the elderly.

A great source of nutrition and a tasty treat, eggs are an ideal part of a healthy and balanced diet. Rich in essential vitamins like B2, B12 and vitamin D, along with selenium, iodine and folate (amongst plenty of others, of course). Folate is of particular importance to pregnant women by assisting cell division and helping new tissues to grow.

Understanding egg codes

You will notice various marks and symbols on our packs and on the eggs. These codes verify the quality and provenance of the eggs and makes them fully traceable right back to the farm. The ink used to print on the egg is food safe.
